Good
Room was very large (though a bit sparsely furnished) with a balcony and glorious city and Cristo Redentor view. Breakfast was a shadow of the usual Mercure spread, due to covid, but still pretty good. Botafogo is a less-touristy regular neighborhood with lots of dining options and convenient to most tourist attractions.
The reception area was shabby and depressing. I honestly thought I must have walked into the hotel's valet parking back office. Pool was sadly closed. For the price, it seemed there were better options nearby, so I switched hotel after a couple days.

Lovely room in a perfect location with a good view of the Cristo Redentor
Great location, so many good places to eat within a few minutes' walk! We didn't have breakfast at the hotel because there are two very good bakeries close by where you could get a very nice breakfast and try some local food. Also loads of bars with late-night food literally across the street.
